Digital Media Summer Camp

June 12-16, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Develop your skills in motion graphics, graphic design, and filmmaking.

  • Use state-of-the-art Mac lab featuring 27-inch iMacs
  • Practice with the latest Adobe Creative Cloud software
  • Learn from experienced faculty and professionals
  • Learn more about Milligan’s Film, Graphic Design, and Interactive Media Design programs


  • Learn skills for creating composite video
  • Learn to animate type
  • Utilize timing and application of design principles to create moving graphic designs
  • Learn basics of Adobe After Effects®
  • Students must supply their own memory card


Participants will explore digital cinematography techniques in:

  • Create a documentary-style short film
  • Examine movie and documentary productions
  • Discover film pre-production, principal photography, and post-production techniques
  • Learn basics of film editing with Adobe Premiere®
  • Students must supply their own memory card


  • Develop graphic design skills
  • Learn how to use professional design software, Adobe Illustrator®
  • Explore basic principles of composition
  • Develop a portfolio of your work

Digital Media Showcase

Friends and family are invited to the digital media showcase on Friday, June 16, in the in McGlothlin-Street Theatre in the Gregory Center from 5:00-5:30 pm.

What to Bring

  • Flash drive for saving files
  • Memory card
  • Adobe ID (sign up for free Adobe ID at and bring the user name and password with you)
  • Google Drive account (or similar cloud account) already set up in order to upload your files to
    the cloud


Registration is open to ages 13 through seniors (Class of 2023). Register by May 15 for a discount!

NOTE: DAY CAMP only. Lunch is included but no overnight housing or evening programming is provided.

Camp students may be identified or photographed for publication, broadcast, transmission and/or electronic display by the news media or University public relations officials. Unless a written statement to the contrary is filed with the Office of Summer Programs ( PRIOR to the start of camp, camp students waive their model rights to be photographed for the University’s print and online publications without prior notice.
