Juried Art Exhibition, April 22-29

Milligan Art Gallery

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (April 20, 2018)—Milligan College will present its 23rd annual Juried Art Exhibition on Sunday, April 22, with an opening reception from 2-4 p.m. in the Milligan Art Gallery, located inside Derthick Hall. This free and public exhibit will remain open until Sunday, April 29.

The Juried Art Exhibition showcases the talents and skills of Milligan fine art, photography, graphic design and digital media students. Every year, the college selects a juror to hand pick the pieces to be displayed in the exhibit.

This year’s juror is Lisa Flanary, associate professor of photography at Carson Newman University. She holds a bachelor’s in history and earned an MFA in photography from East Tennessee State University. Flanary recently published a book of historical photographs featuring Dandridge, Tennessee.

“It’s exciting for students and faculty to see which works the juror selects and how that chosen collection comes together as an exhibit in the gallery,” said Art Brown, assistant professor of communications who leads the college’s graphic design major. “We invite everyone to the opening reception to see the excellent work from this academic year and to support their classmates and students.”

Awards of excellence and merit will be given to standout pieces. For more information about Milligan arts events, visit www.milligan.edu/arts.
