Rise Above Awards

The call for papers theme for this year’s conference is Bridges and Borders.

In this year’s CFP, writers should consider bridges and/or borders in their own fields of study, whether literal or symbolic. For example, this year’s CFP might be viewed literally through the lenses of engineering or political science by thinking about physical bridges and national borders, but it could also be approached more broadly through the lenses of worship or education (and many others), by thinking about barriers to connection or places where borders give way to new ideas and understandings.

Research projects that best fit the theme will be awarded at the end of the Blue Ridge Undergraduate Research Conference. Initial judging will be based on the submitted abstract, but final decisions will be based on the quality of the presentation itself. A panel of judges will rank presentations during the conference and winners will be announced at the end of the day.
