Lingerfelt holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from East Tennessee State University, a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Milligan College, and a Post Professional Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.

As a practicing occupational therapist, Lingerfelt holds experience working with both geriatric and pediatric populations.  Along with her roles and responsibilities as Academic Fieldwork Coordinator of Occupational Therapy and teaching duties, she continues to work as a clinician in a private, outpatient pediatric practice.

Lingerfelt lives with her husband, Nick, and two daughters in Kingsport.  She is a member of Strong Tower Baptist Church where she enjoys serving as a worship leader and children’s Sunday school teacher.
