Howell has a bachelor of arts degree in language arts from Marshall University, a master’s of education in English from Georgia Southwestern, a master’s of science degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of La Verne and a doctorate in education from the University of New Mexico. She serves as the Paul Clark chair of education at Milligan.
Before coming to Milligan College, she taught in public schools in West Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia, Alaska, Ohio, Florida and New Mexico and was an adjunct for Chapman College and the College of Santa Fe. She has made numerous presentations at both regional and national conferences, and led the education area through two NCATE and state accreditations.
