Ashley Held earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Shenandoah University. She currently is pursuing her Post Professional Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Shenandoah University.
Held has accumulated nearly 20 years of experience in OT practice, working in the areas of school-based, community-based, out-patient, home care, and telehealth. She served as adjunct faculty for two years in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Walters State Community College. Her research interests include the effective use of telehealth in underserved populations and community-based OT.
Held’s teaching responsibilities at Milligan include Diagnostic Considerations for Occupational Therapy, Occupations and Occupational Therapy, Play and Leisure, Community-Based Occupational Therapy, and School-Based OT elective.
Held shares her life in Gray, TN, with her husband, Scott, and their son and daughter. She is a dedicated servant of the Lord and avid member of Grace Meadows Church in Jonesborough.
