MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Sept. 17, 2019) – Milligan College’s annual “Church Planting Emphasis Week,” Sept. 23-27, will feature two preachers committed to forming new churches in the U.S. The week is presented in partnership with Stadia, a worldwide church planting organization. The events are free and open to the public.
Crockett Davidson will discuss his experience with planting churches across the Southeast on Tuesday, Sept. 24, in Milligan’s Mary B. Martin Auditorium located in Seeger Chapel. He will speak again on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. in Phillips Memorial Chapel located in the B.D. Phillips Building on Emmanuel Hill.
Davidson holds over 18 years of experience in ministry and currently serves as the Southeast regional director for Stadia. Davidson most recently planted and served as lead pastor of Vintage City Church in Hickory, North Carolina. He and his wife, Natalie, have served churches in Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio and Virginia. Davidson has served on the boards of several church planting networks and coached multiple church planters.
Josie Barton, Stadia’s marketing manager and member of the preaching team at The Foundry, will preach on Tuesday, Sept 24, at 11 a.m. in Phillips Memorial Chapel. She will speak again in Seeger Chapel on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m.
Barton learned the immense value of church planting when she joined the worship team at Revolution, a church plant in Annapolis, Maryland. In 2013, she served on the launch team of Revolution’s daughter church, The Foundry, in Baltimore, Maryland. Barton served as the worship director for four years before transitioning to her role with Stadia. She remains involved at The Foundry as a member of the preaching team.
In addition to preaching, Davidson and Barton will meet with the college’s undergraduate and seminary students to discuss opportunities to be involved in church planting. Barton will host a discussion on the experiences of women in ministry.
In 2016, Milligan partnered with Stadia to raise awareness of church planting and create new educational opportunities for Milligan students and Stadia church planters.
