Fall commencement on Dec. 14


MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Nov. 29, 2018) — Milligan College will hold its fall commencement ceremony on Friday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. in the college’s Mary B. Martin Auditorium located in Seeger Chapel. Over 100 graduates will be awarded degrees.

The commencement service will include student engagement throughout the ceremony, with graduating students providing the prayer, scripture readings and remarks given to their peers. This year’s speakers include Eden K. Greene, of Camden, North Carolina, receiving a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, and Jeremy K.N. Wheeler, of Jonesborough, Tennessee, earning a Master of Business Administration.

The December 2018 graduates include: eight Bachelor of Arts, 24 Bachelor of Science, three Bachelor of Science in Nursing, 22 Master of Business Administration, seven Master of Education, 14 Master of Science in Counseling and 32 Master of Science in Occupational Therapy.

In addition, the college will present its Fide et Amore award to Dr. Carrie Swanay, area chair of performing, visual and communicative arts. The Fide et Amore award, Milligan’s highest acknowledgement of service, honors Swanay’s loving and faithful dedication to the college and her students. Since 1990, Swanay has taught courses at Milligan in broadcasting, multimedia journalism, production and editing, and visual media. Prior to joining Milligan’s faculty, Swanay served as manager of the production department at WJHL-TV 11. She is a graduate of East Tennessee State University and completed a doctoral degree with a concentration in digital multimedia design and development at Virginia Tech.
