Nursing accreditation reaffirmed for another 10 years

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Nov. 12, 2018) – The Commission on Collegiate Nursing (CCNE) has reaffirmed the accreditation of the Milligan College Bachelor of Science in Nursing program for the maximum term of 10 years.

The CCNE Board of Commissions determined in October that the program met all four accreditation standards related to mission and governance, institutional commitment and resources, curriculum and teaching-learning practices, and assessment and achievement of program outcomes. CCNE said there are no compliance concerns with any of the key elements of the standards.

“The results of our CCNE accreditation process reaffirm the tremendous efforts the Milligan nursing faculty make to ensure our students enter practice as registered nurses prepared to provide the highest quality of patient care,” said Dr. Melinda Collins, associate dean of the School of Sciences and Allied Health and Ballad Health Chair of Nursing. “I count it a tremendous blessing to work with such a dedicated group of faculty and our great students.”

Officially recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a national accreditation agency, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) is an autonomous accrediting agency contributing to the improvement of the public’s health. CCNE ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate and residency programs in nursing. Milligan’s nursing program has been accredited by the CCNE since 2003 and has full approval by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Milligan College is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).
