‘Church Planting Emphasis Week,’ October 15-19

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Oct. 2, 2018) – Milligan College’s annual “Church Planting Emphasis Week,” Oct. 15-19, will include pastors from Brooklyn, New York, and the metropolitan area of Atlanta, Georgia. The week is presented in partnership with Stadia, a world church planting organization, and sessions are free and open to the public.

Dimetra Barrios, co-lead pastor at Legacy Brooklyn Church, will preach on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. in Milligan’s Mary B. Martin Auditorium located in Seeger Chapel and again on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. in Phillips Memorial Chapel located in the B.D. Phillips Building on Emmanuel Hill.

Barrios and her husband’s recent church plant in Brooklyn, where they were raised, serves to unite the community. In addition to her most recent church plant, she has served in pastoral positions for two other church plants over the past five years.

Clint Nolder will preach and will discuss his experience with church planting on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. in Phillips Memorial Chapel. He will speak again at Seeger Chapel on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m.

Nolder has over 15 years of experience in the formation of churches in the United States and abroad. He currently serves as the lead pastor of Foundation Christian Church in Newnan, Georgia, a church that he and his wife planted in January 2018.

In addition to these presentations, Barrios and Nolder will meet with the college’s undergraduate and seminary students to discuss opportunities to be involved in church planting.

In 2016, Milligan partnered with Stadia to raise awareness of church planting and create new educational opportunities for Milligan students and Stadia church planters. To learn more, visit www.milligan.edu or www.stadiachurchplanting.org.
