MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (April 13, 2018) — Milligan College senior Caroline Walker, of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, will present her artwork on Sunday, April 15, with an opening reception from 2-4 p.m. in the Milligan Art Gallery located in Derthick Hall. The show is titled “Synthesis” and will remain open until April 20. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.

“Synthesis is by definition the act of combining different ideas to form something new together,” said Walker, a double major in biology and fine arts with a minor in graphic design. “My artwork examines how science and art are directly correlated: I want to educate the viewer on a topic, and yet be aesthetically pleasing at the same time.”

Walker’s subject matter includes expressions of the human figure, biological specimens, nature and more. Her work features a variety of digital media, painting and drawing. After she graduates, Walker plans to pursue a master’s in medical illustration.
