Art ‘inspired by faith’ at Milligan senior show

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (April 7, 2017)—Milligan College will present its final senior art exhibition for this semester with an opening reception on Sunday, April 9, 2-4 p.m. featuring the fine art and photography of Brittany Helms, of Kingsport, Tennessee.

The show will run from April 9 to April 14 in the Milligan Art Gallery, located in lower Derthick Hall. The reception and show are free and open to the public.

Titled “Humble Offerings: Inspired by Faith,” the show is described by Helms as a way for her to worship and praise God through the creation of art in the forms of painting, drawing and ceramic.

“We are made in the image of God, which allows our own creativity to flow from him,” said Helms, a fine arts and photography major. “My hope with this show is to give glory to God and bless others, as well.”
