Milligan senior art show studies the ‘uncanny’

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Feb. 16, 2017)—Milligan College student Collin Hawley, from Woodbridge, Virginia, presents his senior showcase on Sunday, Feb. 19, with an opening reception from 2-4 p.m. in the Milligan Art Gallery, located in Derthick Hall.

The show, titled “Unheimlich,” is inspired by the Freudian concept of the uncanny. His photography prints are long exposures on film, varying from minutes to hours.

“My photographs are an illustration of how ordinary home places surrounding us both draw us in and repel us as we grow and change,” said Hawley.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. The show will run until Friday, Feb. 24.
