Campus ministry veteran to speak at Milligan for Spiritual Renewal Week


MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (March 15, 2016) — Author and campus ministry veteran Dr. Guy Chmieleski will be the keynote speaker during Milligan College’s annual Spiritual Renewal Week, March 15-19.

Focusing on the theme of “This Distracted Life, Chmieleski will lecture on Tuesday, March 15, and Thursday, March 17, at 11 a.m. in Milligan’s Mary B. Martin Auditorium, located in Seeger Chapel. The services are free and open to the public.

“We are so excited to have Chmieleski on campus for such an important time of spiritual formation for our students,” said Brad Wallace, Milligan’s campus minister. “Spiritual Renewal Week exists to provide the campus community an opportunity to refocus on our shared faith and life in Christ, to challenge and call each other to lives that are more obedient and more centered on the love of God.”

Chmieleski has worked with college students for nearly 20 years on the campuses of Palm Beach Atlantic University, Asbury University, Pepperdine University and Belmont University. Chmieleski’s books include “Shaping Their Future: Mentoring College Students Through Their Formative Years,” “Campus Gods: Exposing the Idols That Can Derail Your Present and Destroy Your Future” and “Noise. Hurry. Crowds: On Creating Space for God Amidst the Chaos of Campus and Culture.”

He earned a bachelor’s degree in youth ministry from Bethel University, a Master of Arts in ministry from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a Doctor of Ministry with an emphasis in spiritual formation and leadership development from George Fox Evangelical Seminary.
