Family Weekend slated for Feb. 20-22 at Milligan


MILLIGAN, Tenn. (Jan. 23, 2015) — Family weekend is an opportunity for parents and siblings to see what college life is like, as well as to tour and explore the Tri-Cities area. On campus events are planned throughout the weekend, but families are encouraged to do some sightseeing in the local area as well. There is no required pre-registration but be sure to stop by registration in the SUB for your registration packet, a gift from your hosts, and coupons for area attractions and restaurants.

Schedule of Events

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 20

  • 3 p.m.-6 p.m. — Registration
    McMahan Student Center
    Be sure to stop by registration for your registration packet, gift from your hosts, and coupons for area attractions and restaurants. Pick up tickets to Saturday’s basketball games!
  • 3 p.m.-6 p.m. — Bookstore Open
    McMahan Student Center
    Get your Milligan gear in the Bookstore! Enjoy 10% off your purchases all weekend.
  • 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. — Dinner
    McCormick Dining Center, Sutton Hall
    $5.50 for those not on meal plans. Or have a night out at one of our area’s many dining establishments.
  • 8 p.m. — Mr. Buff
    Gregory Center
    SGA invites you to the annual Mr. Buff pageant, a male talent and beauty competition! Don’t miss this exciting evening full of great skill and pageantry.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 21

  • 10 a.m.-12:00p.m. — Registration Continued
    McMahan Student Center
  • 10:30 a.m.-12:30p.m. — Brunch
    McCormick Dining Center, Sutton Hall
    $4.75 for those not on meal plans
  • 1 p.m. — Baseball vs. Point Park University
    Anglin Field
  • 2 p.m. — Women’s Basketball Game vs. Montreat College
    Steve Lacy Fieldhouse
  • 4 p.m. — Men’s Basketball vs. Montreat College
    Steve Lacy Fieldhouse
  • 5 p.m.–6 p.m. — Dinner
    McCormick Dinning Center, Sutton Hall

  • 7 p.m. -12 a.m. — All-Hall Open House
    Various Locations
    Take time to experience what life is like living on campus! All of our residence halls will be open to visitors.
  • 8 p.m. — Dean’s List Ceremony
    Mary B. Martin Auditorium, Seeger Memorial Chapel
    Recognizing those students named to the Academic Dean’s List and their families.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 22

  • 8 a.m.-9 a.m. — Continental Breakfast
    McCormick Dining Center, Sutton Hall
    $4.50 for those not on meal plans. Worship with your student at his or her local church. This day is free for travel or activities of your choice!
  • 2 p.m. — Baseball Vs. Point Park University
    Anglin Field
