Milligan’s Women’s Chorale to perform at Biltmore

Women's Chorale 3MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Nov. 5, 2014) — The Milligan College Women’s Chorale will perform at Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 5:30 p.m. as part of the estate’s special holiday event, Candlelight Christmas Evenings.

“We are very excited and honored to be performing at Biltmore this year,” said Director Anne Elliott, assistant professor of the practice of music at Milligan. “Biltmore maintains a waiting list for choirs and instrumental performers during their Christmas season evening tours. This opportunity has been four years in the making.”

The ladies will sing five half-hour concerts in the seasonally decorated Winter Garden of the Biltmore mansion, accompanied by senior piano performance major Amanda Eversole. Selections will feature traditional Christmas pieces from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.

The Women’s Chorale is an ensemble that performs literature of different styles, ranging from sacred to popular. Founded in fall 2008, the Women’s Chorale performs on and off campus for churches and various organizations in the Tri-Cities area.
