Statement about Emmanuel Christian Seminary

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (May 22, 2013) — We are very pleased to share with our friends that constructive talks regarding Emmanuel’s integration with Milligan College continue.  Milligan President Bill Greer and Emmanuel President Mike Sweeney, along with their teams, meet regularly to discuss plans and associated issues that arise as progress is made toward the eventual integration of Emmanuel into Milligan.

As an intermediate step, and to assist Emmanuel in efficiently and effectively continuing operations, work is underway on a management consulting agreement that will include some of Milligan’s department heads overseeing various administrative functions, including Finance, Admissions, IT, and the physical plant.  A management agreement should be signed this summer.

Both institutions share a common mission of preparing men and women for effective ministry and servant-leadership. Our mutual long-term goal is to ensure that academically-sound advanced degrees in Bible and ministry continue to be offered, and we agree that Emmanuel and Milligan can do this best together as one institution with one united mission and operational structure.

We are excited about the future possibilities and the great advantages this will offer to students at both schools. We continue working to be good stewards of God’s kingdom, and ask your continued prayers for our wisdom, patience, and thoughtfulness.
