Tomlinson awarded RCC scholarship

Lauren TomlinsonMILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (March 12, 2013) — Lauren Tomlinson, a 2012 Milligan College graduate, has been awarded a scholarship to attend The Religion Communicators Council (RCC) convention next month.

Tomlinson, a native of Monticello, Ill., earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing, along with a minor in public relations and advertising. She is now employed by Milligan as a student financial services counselor.

“Lauren has a great attitude and is eager to continue her personal development in the area of church marketing,” said Nancy Williams, adjunct instructor of communications at Milligan. “The RCC convention will greatly augment her experience.”

The RCC is an interfaith association of more than 400 religion communicators working in print and electronic communication, advertising and public relations. The council provides opportunities for religion communicators of different faith communities who face similar challenges to exchange ideas and best practices.

Members of the RCC are keenly interested in the next generation of professional communicators and strive to encourage interest in religion communication as a career path.  The convention includes interesting keynote speakers and challenging workshops. It will be held in Indianapolis, Ind., from April 4-6.
