Missionaries to speak about work in Bulgaria

hillmanspicMILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Feb. 21, 2013) — Missionaries Gabriel and Melissa Hillman will share stories of their work in Bulgaria on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 6:30 p.m. in Milligan College’s McMahan Student Center.

The event is hosted by Milligan’s Cross Cultural Missions Committee. It is free and open to the public.

The Hillmans, 2005 Milligan graduates, will speak about their work through YouthHOPE, a ministry of New Mission Systems International. YouthHOPE is committed to transforming the lives of global youth by equipping the church to meet their holistic needs.

“The Hillmans desire to make disciples among the youth of Bulgaria and they long to see the local Bulgarian church growing stronger with the Christian leaders of the next generation,” said Milligan Campus Minister Brad Wallace. “We hope that their experience and insight might inspire people who are interested in pursuing missions and provide a glimpse of how Milligan alumni are serving around the world.”

Since 2007, the Hillmans have been in Bulgaria where they use their gifts and passion for youth and family ministry. Their ministry consists of connecting with students through outdoor adventure sports such as mountain biking, hiking and backpacking, as well as leading a youth Alpha Course (an introduction to Christianity).

In addition, they have worked in schools and taught the book “Youth at the Crossroads,” created by Agape Ministries.
