Milligan music faculty to present joint recital

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (March 23, 2012)—The Milligan College music faculty will present a collaborative recital with a wide range of chamber ensembles and repertoire on Friday, March 30, at 7:30 p.m. in Milligan’s Mary B. Martin Auditorium in Seeger Memorial Chapel. This event is free and open to the public.

“We recently revived the faculty recital after several years without it, and it was very well received,” said Dr. Kellie Brown, chair of the music area at Milligan. “Our music faculty members are not just teachers; they are also very talented musicians. This recital gives us the opportunity to work collaboratively with each other and be performance models for our students.”

Featured selections include the Saint-Saens “Clarinet Sonata,” the Bach “Concerto for Two Violins,” “Hymn of Trust” by Amy Beach, and music from Broadway and jazz standards.

The recital will feature six performers from the music faculty including Dr. Charlotte Anderson, Dr. Kellie Brown, Noah DeLong, Anne Elliott, Dr. David Runner and Rick Simerly, as well as adjunct professors Justin Butler, Tom Crawford, Eddie Dalton and Cheryl Fitzgerald. Special guests include Carlene Eastridge and Ashley Guice, with students Tommy Parker, Will Scott and Lucas Schmidt.
