MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Jan. 5, 2012) — Bestselling author and speaker Lysa TerKeurst will provide a day of spiritual renewal and study for women at the annual Eleanore L. Campbell Ladies Conference on Saturday, Feb. 18, at Milligan College.
Hosted by Associated Ladies for Milligan (ALM), this conference for women, titled “Becoming More,” will be held on the Milligan campus from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“This is a day for women of all ages to be spiritually fed and recharged through biblical teaching, uplifting music and fellowship with other women from throughout the region,” said Clarinda Jeanes, founding president of ALM. “We are pleased to bring nationally known speaker and author Lysa TerKeurst to Milligan for this year’s event.”
As president of Proverbs 31 Ministries, TerKeurst helps everyday women live an adventure of faith through following Jesus Christ. Throughout her 15-year ministry, she has led thousands to make their walk with God an invigorating journey.
TerKeurst’s personal adventure of following God captured national media attention when she and her husband adopted two teenage boys from a war-torn orphanage in Liberia, Africa. They never imagined their decision would start a chain reaction within their community, which inspired other families to adopt more than 45 children from the same orphanage. Her amazing story led to appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, and Focus on the Family radio, as well as articles in USA Today and Woman’s Day magazine.
Today, TerKeurst and her ministry team at Proverbs 31 encourage 500,000 women through their daily online devotional. In addition, she co-hosts a one-minute inspirational radio program aired on more than 1,200 stations around the world, including local Christian radio station WCQR (88.3 FM). Her blog averages more than 80,000 readers per month, and she touches the lives of many others through a monthly magazine, P31 Woman.
TerKeurst is the award-winning author of 14 books, including her latest New York Times bestselling release, “Made to Crave: Satisfying Your Deepest Desire with God Not Food.” She is a frequent speaker at women’s events throughout the country each year, including Extraordinary Women and Focus on the Family conferences, as well as her own conference, She Speaks.
“Lysa desires to help women deal with all of the adventures that come from being a follower of Christ,” said Jeanes. “She will challenge us to think about our faith, our lives and our reactions. She will take us to the Word and encourage us to take what we have learned and use it for the glory of God. I am excited that she is coming to Milligan.”
Registration for the conference is $35 per person before Feb. 1, and $40 after Feb. 1. Student registration is $20, if received by Feb. 1. A box lunch will be provided. Proceeds from the conference benefit student scholarships at Milligan College.
