Christian musician and author to perform at Milligan


Michael CardMILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Nov. 16, 2011) — Renowned recording artist, award-winning author, and Bible teacher Michael Card will speak at Milligan College on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 11 a.m. in the Mary B. Martin Auditorium in Seeger Memorial Chapel. He will also perform later that evening at 7 p.m. in Seeger. Both events are free and open to the public.

In a career that spans 30 years, Card has recorded more than 30 albums, authored or co-authored 24 books, hosted a radio program, and written for a wide range of magazines. He has penned such favorites as “El Shaddai,” “Love Crucified Arose” and “Emmanuel,” sold more than 4 million albums, and written 19 No. 1 hits.

Card encourages audiences to join in his own journey to know and be known by God by asking questions and entering into meaningful discussion with one another. Card’s vision is to edify the body of Christ around the world by sharing experiences and resources in the context of community in order to help facilitate the growth of smaller and more intimate communities.

Card is a graduate of Western Kentucky University, where he earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biblical studies. He has also received honorary doctoral degrees in music and Christian education from Whitfield Seminary and Philadelphia Biblical University.
