Milligan to host ‘Eats with Sinners’ seminar


MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Sept. 1, 2011)—Arron Chambers, author of “Eats with Sinners,” will present a seminar based on his book  on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.,  at Milligan College’s Gregory Center for the Liberal Arts.

In addition to the Saturday seminar, Chambers will speak at Milligan’s convocation service on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. in the Mary B. Martin Auditorium in Seeger Memorial Chapel. This event is free and open to the public.

The message of “Eats with Sinners” comes from Luke 15:2, which says of Jesus, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” Published in November 2009, the book is an inspiring look at how to build relationships and share the hope of Christ with the world. In its March/April 2011 issue, Outreach magazine named “Eats with Sinners” one of its recommended resources of the year.

“At some point in their spiritual journey, all Christians want to become better equipped to share their faith with the people they meet along the way,” said Phyllis Fox, Milligan’s director of church relations and Youth in Ministry. “Arron Chambers’ book has a challenge and encouraging message for all of us, and we’re excited that he’s coming to Milligan to share it.”

Chambers has written several other books including “Running on Empty,” “Scripture to Live By,” “Remember Who You Are” and “GO!”He is the lead minister at Journey Christian Church in Greeley, Colo., and is a contributing editor for Christian Standard. Chambers is also the host of his own television program titled “Enjoying the Journey with Arron Chambers.”
