Milligan announces staff changes in business office, church relations

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Feb. 7, 2011) — After 20 years of service to Milligan College, Joe Whitaker retired from his position as Vice President for Business. Brent Nipper, who has served as Milligan’s Associate Director of Church Relations since 2008, will assume the role of Director of Property and Risk Management, taking on many of Whitaker’s responsibilities in the business office.

“Joe Whitaker has served Milligan well over the past two decades, and we will miss his leadership, his business acumen and his commitment to the college,” said Milligan President Donald R. Jeanes. “As we move forward, Jacqui Steadman, Vice President for Business and Finance, will oversee the business and finance areas. And we are pleased that one of our own, Brent Nipper, will transition to a new role to assist her with the business operations of the college.”

Nipper, a 1996 Milligan alumnus, began his new position Feb. 1. He has 12 years of business experience prior to his role in Milligan’s church relations office and is currently enrolled in Milligan’s MBA program.

Kit Dotson, a 1993 Milligan alumnus, will assume the role of associate director of church relations, beginning Feb. 14. Dotson has served in youth ministry for 19 years, including ministries in North Carolina and Tennessee. He most recently served as the youth minister at Crossroads Christian Church in Gray, Tenn., and has also been a consultant with Milligan’s Youth in Ministry program for the past five years.

“Kit brings both a passion for Milligan and for churches,” said Phyllis Fox, Milligan’s Director of Church Relations and Youth in Ministry. “He understands the importance of cultivating and nurturing our relationship with the churches, and we’re excited to have him on board.”
