Andrew receives top academic scholarship


MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Aug. 4, 2010) — Nate Andrew of Pittsburgh, Pa., is attending Milligan College as the 2010 recipient of the school’s Oosting Scholarship, a merit-based, full scholarship.

As an Oosting scholar, Andrew is recognized for outstanding academic ability, a demonstration of commitment to scholarly pursuits, a sincere Christian faith and service to others.

“I am looking forward to becoming a student at Milligan this fall because of the many opportunities for educational and spiritual growth,” Andrew said.

Andrew graduated with academic high honors from Plum Senior High School. He received a Certificate of Merit for the SAT from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency and was a member of the National Honor Society. He volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and has served as a peer tutor.

Andrew also excelled in sports and music during high school. He lettered in varsity soccer and track. He is the school record-holder and a state qualifier in the 4×800 meter relay. He is also the recipient of the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award.

Andrew will major in music education at Milligan. After graduation, he plans to obtain a master’s degree and teach music at a high school or college level or serve as a worship leader in a church. He is the son of Keith and Tammy Andrew.
