Slemp, Black to perform recitals


MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (April 26, 2010)- Milligan College students Shauna Slemp and Haylie Black will perform voice recitals on Friday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. in Milligan’s Seeger Memorial Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.

Slemp, a native of Fall Branch, Tenn., is a junior music education major with a vocal emphasis. She will perform “When Daisies Pied,” “Che Faro Senza Euridice” and “Just a Closer Walk with Thee,” along with other arrangements.

Black, a native of Plainfield, Ind., is a senior fine arts major with a music emphasis and a double minor in Spanish and art. She will perform a selection of songs including Georges Bizet’s famed “Habanera (Carmen)” and Mozart’s “Non so più cosa son.”

Milligan freshman Erin Raines, of Mechanicsville, Va., will accompany both soloists on the piano.
