Milligan Photography Club hosts first show

Donations to benefit local animal shelter

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (November 13, 2009) – Celebrate the art of photography with the Milligan College Photography Club as it hosts its first show on Friday, Nov. 20. The exhibition will be from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Burleson Room, located in the lower level of Milligan’s Gregory Center for the Liberal Arts.

Admission to the event, which includes photography, music and food, is $2 or one can of animal food. All proceeds go to support the Washington County/Johnson City Animal Shelter.

Although Milligan seniors traditionally host a show to display their work, there has never been an exhibition to showcase the work of photography club students. This exhibition represents many talented photographers on Milligan’s campus, and organizers plan to make it an annual event.

“We wanted a way for the photography students to share their talents with friends, family and the campus,” said Cara Beth Quisenberry, a Milligan student and photography club member. “The arts are a huge part of Milligan, however there is a lot more to be discovered. We hope that by creating this show, people will become more involved and help create a stronger art community on Milligan’s campus.”
