2009 Juried Art Exhibit

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (April 29, 2008) — Twelve Milligan College students received awards for their photography, art, sculptures and digital media projects as part of the 2009 Juried Art Exhibit. The exhibit is on display in Milligan’s Sub-7 located in McMahan Student Center through Friday, May 1.

Students honored with awards of excellence include Leah Anderson, a senior humanities major from Lexington, Ky.; Megan Bower, a senior fine arts major from Milligan College, Tenn.; Thomas Cherry, a sophomore psychology major from Louisville, Ky.; Ty Lee, a junior fine arts major from Springdale, Ark.; Rachel Mahan, a senior fine arts major from Jonesborough, Tenn.; Austin Sanford, a senior fine arts major from Charlotte, N.C.; and Kori Zick, a senior fine arts major from Durand, Ill.

Students honored with awards of merit include Marsha Allen, a junior public leadership and service major from Newport News, Va.; Jake Merrick, a junior fine arts major from Jonesborough, Tenn.; Chuck Rector, a senior fine arts major from Elizabethton, Tenn.; Christina Spooner, a senior math major from Lithia Springs, Ga.; and Brian Williams, a freshman fine arts major from Dublin, Ohio. Mahan and Lee also received awards of merit.

Wayne Dyer, professor of art at East Tennessee State University, was the juror for the exhibition and selected the works for awards of excellence and awards of merit.
