Dee Brestin to speak at Milligan ladies conference

Milligan College, TN ( January 29, 2009) — Nationally recognized author and speaker Dee Brestin will present “God’s Amazing Love” at the fifth annual Associated Ladies for Milligan (ALM) ladies conference on Saturday, Feb. 21, in the new Gregory Center on the campus of Milligan College.

Brestin has spent the past 25 years writing, speaking, encouraging and challenging women of all ages, from all stages of life, how to discover a life-changing intimacy with Jesus.

“ It is the desire of my heart to make Christ’s Word relevant to women today,” said Brestin. “I love to use real-life stories, humor, drama and music to help women see the truth of scripture as well as hear it.”

Brestin began connecting with women with her best-selling book, “The Friendships of Women,” and continues understanding and ministering to the needs of mothers, singles, and most recently, since the loss of her 59-year-old husband, widows. She has written more than 20 studies, including “Falling in Love with Jesus” and “A Woman of Worship.”

Leading worship is Christian artist Two or More.

ALM President Clarinda Jeanes hopes the conference serves both ALM’s and Milligan College’s goal of growing Christian servant leaders.

“For the ladies that participate in this conference, I hope they are challenged and want to go back to their churches and do more for their women’s ministries and reach out to other women in their communities,” said Jeanes.

Registration for the Feb. 21 conference is $35. The cost includes lunch. All proceeds benefit student scholarships at Milligan College.
