Popular storyteller, comedian, minister to speak at Milligan

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Feb. 5, 2008) – Storyteller, minister, disc-jockey and comedian Dan “Southpaw” Smith will speak at Milligan College’s Seeger Memorial Chapel on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. His topic will be “Loving God and Loving Others.”

Smith serves as the lead minister of Momentum Christian Church in Cleveland, Ohio, where he strives to model the teaching style of Jesus, the ultimate storyteller. Armed with a witty sense of humor, he shares the teachings of Jesus with people in a refreshing, down-to-earth manner.

In addition to his church ministry, Smith does stand-up comedy and works as a turntable DJ for parties and conventions. He also is the creative genius behind the comedic videos, “Baby Got Book,” “Left-Handed Humor” and “The Caucasian Invasion.”

Smith is a graduate of Kentucky Christian University and currently is pursuing a master’s degree in storytelling from East Tennessee State University. He and his wife, Shannon, have two children, Zion and Azlan.
