Former Southeast minister to speak at Milligan

Milligan College, Tenn. (Nov. 1, 2007) – Retired Southeast Christian Church Senior Minister Bob Russell will speak at Milligan College’s chapel service on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m. in Seeger Memorial Chapel. His sermon based on Genesis 3.

At the age of 22, Russell joined Southeast Christian Church where he served as pastor until his retirement in June of 2006.  During his tenure at the Louisville , Ky. , church, the congregation grew from 120 members to a megachurch with 18,000 attendees and four worship services each weekend.

While Russell continues to speak to churches, church leaders and at civic events, his ministry in retirement has expanded in several areas. He now serves as Chairman of the Board of Londen Institute, an organization that enables men and women to pursue a second career in the ministry. He also conducts monthly mentoring retreats for active ministers seeking to encourage them and pass on some of his lessons learned over the course of 40 years as a senior minister.
