“Wonderful Wednesday” will be a Terrific Thursday this year

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (April 11, 2007) — Milligan College’s annual surprise holiday will take place on a Thursday this year. Day classes have been cancelled for Thursday, April 12, and a variety of social activities and games have been planned.

This traditional “holiday” for the Milligan community, which is not always on a Wednesday despite the campus holiday’s name, is a college tradition dating back to the late 1960s. A veil of secrecy surrounds the exact date and theme of the surprise holiday each year. Activities are planned by the Campus Activities Board.

This year “Terrific Thursday” is themed “Shake, Rattle and Roll back to the 50’s.” Festivities begin tonight at Leisure Lanes with “Let’s Bowl, Let’s Bowl, Let’s Rock n’ Roll.” Evening classes on Wednesday and Thursday will meet as scheduled.

Thursday morning will begin with a brunch in the cafeteria, followed by games and inflatables on the softball field. Ultimate Frisbee, basketball and volleyball tournaments will take place throughout the afternoon, as well as the traditional waterslide at Buffalo Creek and a student vs. faculty softball game.
