MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (February 6, 2007) — Milligan students will welcome their families to campus Feb. 9-11 for Family Weekend 2007.

Family Weekend is an opportunity for parents and siblings to see what college life is like, as well as to tour and explore the Tri-Cities area. On-campus events are planned throughout the weekend, and families are encouraged to do some sightseeing in the local area as well.

The weekend kicks off Friday, Feb. 9, with registration in the McMahan Student Center from 3 to 6 p.m.  Dinner is “on your own,” followed by an All Dorm Open House from 7 p.m. to midnight. Beginning at 8 p.m. in the SUB7 Coffeehouse located in the McMahan Student Center, various students, faculty and staff will perform their talents during “Open-Mic Night.”

On Saturday, a Dean’s List Ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. in Walker Auditorium of Seeger Chapel for families of all students named to the Academic Dean’s List, followed by brunch served in the McCormick Dining Center. A historical tour of the Milligan College campus will be offered from 1 – 2:30 p.m.  Also at 1 p.m., fans can cheer on the Buffs baseball team as they take on the Union College Bulldogs in a double-header at Anglin Field.

Saturday evening is “alumni, family and prospective student night” as the women’s and men’s basketball teams host Union College at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. in Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. At 8 p.m. the Johnson City Symphony Orchestra will perform in Seeger Memorial Chapel on the Milligan College campus.
