India Prime Minister appointee to present in Milligan chapel service


MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (February 15, 2006) — A member of the National Youth Council and missionary to Central India will speak in chapel services at Milligan College on Thursday, Feb. 16, at 11:00 a.m.  Dr. Ajai Lall will speak on the topic “Preaching: Proclaiming God’s Word.”

Appointed by the prime minister of India as a member of the National Youth Council to represent Christian institutions, Lall spoke during the main sessions at the combined 1995 North American Christian Convention and National Missionary Convention, as well as the 2000 North American Christian Convention. He served as president of the 2001 National Missionary Convention that met in Tulsa, Okla.

Lall and his wife, Indu, began Central India Christian Mission (CICM) in December 1982. The primary focus of CICM is evangelism, church planting and leadership training. CICM has also participated in children’s fund programming, medical evangelism, emergency disaster services, literature ministry and radio ministries which broadcast weekly programs to 38 countries. The mission currently contains 400 fulltime workers. It has also contributed to over 400 churches which have been planted in central and northern India , Nepal and along northeast India and Bhutan.

Lall received a bachelor of arts degree in criminology from the State University of Sagar, Central India, in 1978. He then attended Dallas Christian College, Cincinnati Bible Seminary and Roanoke Bible College, where he graduated in 1982. He holds a master of arts degree in humanities and a Ph.D. in public administration from the State University of Sagar. He also holds a doctorate in literature from the Institute of Theological Studies and Research in Kerala, India.

Milligan College chapel services occur on Thursday mornings in Seeger Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m. These services include worship services, lectures, and dialogues.
