Milligan and JRT present “A Midsummer Night's Dream”

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (February 1, 2005) — Milligan College and Jonesborough Repertory Theatre will present William Shakespeare’s romantic comedy “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” April 6-10.

The collaborative production illustrates love’s humorous side through the story of two sets of couples whose search for true love is complicated when they become lost in an enchanted forest and entangled in a feud of mischievous sprites.

“We are excited to once again team with Jonesborough Repertory Theatre. Our fall production, “Footloose,” was extremely successful. Tickets sold out before the show’s opening,” said Richard Major, professor of theatre at Milligan College and director of the show.

Tyler Simmons, sophomore fine arts major from Newburgh, Ind., serves as stage manager, Scott Hardy as lighting director, Melissa Shafer as set designer, and Monet LaClair as costume designer. Kellie Brown, professor of music at Milligan College, will lead an octet comprised of her stringed instrument students in an instrumental interlude.

The show will run April 6-9 at 8 p.m. and April 9-10 at 2 p.m. at the Jonesborough Repertory Theatre. The theater is located at 125 1/2 W. Main St. in Jonesborough, adjacent to the Eureka Hotel.

Tickets for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” are $8 and will go on sale March 22. For tickets, please contact the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center at 423.753.1010.
