ALM to hold first Ladies Conference: Becoming a woman of Love, Truth and Power

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (January 13, 2005) —  Associated Ladies for Milligan (ALM) will hold its first annual ladies conference, Saturday, Feb. 26, in Seeger Chapel on the campus of Milligan College.

Join best-selling author and internationally acclaimed speaker Rebecca Pippert and musical group SoulReal for a day of discovery — how to become woman of LOVE, TRUTH and POWER.

A widely-recognized authority in the area of evangelism, Pippert is founder of Salt Shaker Ministries, whose mission is “to train, teach and equip Christians to know Christ well and to make Him well-known.” Described by Chuck Colson as one of the “liveliest and most effective communicators of the gospel in the world today,” Pippert has spoken extensively at conferences and churches around the world and throughout the U.S., including serving as a keynote speaker for Billy Graham’s Conference for Itinerant Evangelists in Amsterdam. She has been a frequent guest on Moody Bible Radio Broadcasts and is a monthly columnist for the largest Christian Korean magazine, Salt and Light.

“There is probably no experience more terrifying than the first time we lead a person to Christ. But there are few things more thrilling or that make us more aware of how true Christianity is. To see God’s Spirit take control and beautifully change a person’s life is one of the greatest miracles we will ever witness,” writes Pippert in her book Out of the Salt Shaker and into the World, which is considered a modern classic on evangelism with more than a half-a-million copies sold and translations in more than 25 languages.

Lighting up the horizon of faith-centered music will be SoulReal, a dynamic trio from Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Ky., with a gutsy, contemporary country sound that stays true to the “Soul” in their name.

“To ‘Tell the World’” is the mission God has laid before SoulReal. Since forming in the summer of 1999, they have been asked to sing all over the country, traveling as far as Seoul, Korea.

Part of the uniqueness of SoulReal is the varied professional backgrounds each member brings to the group. Rhonda Jo Conner, a former country music singer, is an experienced motivational speaker and songwriter. Lesley McFerron has a resume that includes a background in acting on stage and in film, along with doing commercial voice-overs and studio singing. Margaret Cloud Searcy, a classically trained soprano, has performed professionally in many venues ranging from opera to gospel to contemporary Christian.

SoulReal will have your toes tapping one minute and your heart soaring the next. Their music speaks straight to the soul. The sincerity of their spirit encourages listeners to give themselves over to the gravity-defying power of God.

Ticket prices for the conference are $20 for adults who register prior to Feb. 10 ($25 after Feb. 10) and $10 for students. Lunch will be provided. All proceeds benefit student scholarships at Milligan College.
