Overflow Ministries founder to speak on diversity and racial reconciliation


MILLIGAN COLLEGE , TN (November 10, 2004) — Dr. Brenda Salter McNeil, who spent 15 years coordinating multi-ethnic training for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and now oversees her own racial reconciliation ministry, will speak at Milligan College’s 11 a.m. chapel service on Thursday, Nov. 18.

Salter McNeil was regional coordinator of multi-ethnic training on the staff of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, an evangelical campus mission serving more than 35,000 students and faculty nationwide. She formed training programs and seminars designed to empower participants to effectively engage in racial reconcilement and cross-cultural ministry.

In 1990, Salter McNeil founded Overflow Ministries, Inc., a multiethnic organization devoted to the ministry of racial and ethnic reconciliation. She serves as president of Overflow Ministries and is an ordained minister, evangelist and frequent speaker at churches, colleges, and conferences internationally.

“Dr. Salter McNeil has a sincere passion for uniting the many different races and cultures within the church. Her work has impacted thousands of Christians across the country and the world,” said Nathan Flora, campus minister at Milligan College.

McNeil holds a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers College , a master’s of divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a doctorate in divinity from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
