Milligan names new assistant registrar and director of testing


MILLIGAN COLLEGE , TN (September 10, 2004) — Lainey Howard has been named assistant registrar and director of testing at Milligan College.

In her position, Howard will oversee testing, graduation, international student advisement and the co-op arrangement program with East Tennessee State University and Emmanuel School of Religion. As part of the co-op arrangement program, Milligan College , East Tennessee State University and Emmanuel School of Religion have an agreement that students can register for courses at any of the three institutions.

Howard brings several years of experience in higher education. She previously served East Tennessee State University in the College of Medicine and in the university’s advancement office.  She also worked for a private instructional design firm that delivered on-line continuing education programs.

She holds a bachelor of science degree in mass communication/public relations and a master of arts degree in liberal studies from East Tennessee State University.

Her husband Jeff serves UVA-Wise as dean of students.

Howard’s predecessor, Traci Smith, remains at the college in a new position, director of student success.
