Milligan holds free youth rally with Duffy Robbins


MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (August 25, 2004) — One of the nation’s leading youth ministry experts will speak at a free youth rally this Sunday evening at Milligan College. Duffy Robins of Youth Specialties is the keynote speaker at the 6:30 p.m. rally sponsored by Youth in Ministry (YiM). The rally is open to area youth groups and youth workers.

Robbins, a 24-year veteran of youth ministry, speaks across the country at youth retreats and conventions, conferences and workshops for youth workers and major Christian music festivals.  As an associate staff member of Youth Specialties, he works throughout the year in training events for youth workers as a part of the CORE and the National Youthworkers Conventions.

Robbins is the author of numerous books including “Youth Ministry That Works,” “Ministry of Nurture,” “Youth Ministry Nuts and Bolts,” “Option Plays,” “Going the Distance,” “Spontaneous Melodramas I and II ,” “Memory Makers” and “Everyday Object Lessons.” His most recent book is a youth ministry textbook, “This Way to Youth Ministry: An Introduction to the Adventure.” He has also written numerous articles for Youthworker Journal, Good News, Campus Life, Group, and Youth Teacher.

Doors open at 6 p.m. A worship service will be led by PULSE, a student ministry praise band from First Christian Church in Johnson City.

YiM, a partnership of Milligan College and Emmanuel School of Religion, is a program that encourages teens to examine their faith and explore their career goals, considering vocational ministry.
