Brown presents faculty recital


MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (September 1, 2003) — Dr. Kellie Brown, assistant professor of music, will present a faculty violin recital on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 3 pm in Seeger Chapel at Milligan College.

This recital features the premiere of commissioned work, Prologue to the Gospel of John, by Kingsport composer John Grubb. Grubb previously composed a piece for the Milligan College Chamber Orchestra in 2001.

Brown holds a B.A. in music education, a M.M. in violin performance, and an Ed.D. in higher education administration. She frequently performs throughout East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

Brown serves as the founder and director of the Milligan College Chamber Orchestra, as well as teaches several music classes. She also serves as the assistant concert master for the Symphony of the Mountains.

The recital will also feature performances by Dr. Charlotte Anderson, mezzo soprano, Dr. David Runner, organ, and Lisa Runner, piano.
