‘Youth Specialties’ ambassador to speak to local youth

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (March 27, 2003) – How to live what you believe is one of the daily struggles every Christian teen faces in today’s culture. It’s a topic that Laurie Polich of Youth Specialties, one of the nation’s leading youth ministry organizations, will help local teens and youth groups address at a special teen summit next week at Milligan College.

Sponsored by Youth in Ministry (YiM), the April 2 summit will bring together area youth groups to worship and hear Polich’s encouraging message on how to chart the course of their lives. After all, this is YiM’s mission – to help teens define God’s vision for their lives. Next week’s youth summit is one of four that YiM is offering to local youth groups this year, plus several workshops and conferences.

Polich, who is an adjunct professor at Azusa Pacific University and a member of the CORE Training Team at Youth Specialties, speaks to youth and youth workers across the nation, encouraging them “to open their hearts to a life-changing faith in a living God.”

She has written seven books including, “Help, I’m a Small Group Leader,” “Creative Bible Lessons from the Old Testament,” and the devotional book “Dive into Living Water.”

For over 30 years Youth Specialties has worked alongside Christian youth workers of various denominations and youth-serving organization. Each year they serve more than 100,000 youth workers worldwide through their training seminars, conventions, resources, and web resources.

The summit is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with worship led by the Poplar Ridge Christian Church youth praise team.
