College Invites Community to Workday

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (July 19, 2002) — A local workday has been scheduled at Milligan College for Saturday, July 27, to make campus improvements. Community members, alumni, and local churches are invited to campus for the “Restoration Crew” day, to help with various projects.

“Each summer there are a number of projects requiring attention while students are away for their break. With summer conferences, there are only a few weeks each summer to complete these important jobs. Restoration Crew is designed for volunteers to come on campus and join us in our efforts to complete these tasks,” said Clarinda Jeanes, who is organizing the community workday with husband and Milligan president, Don Jeanes.

Jeanes said help is needed with carpentry, cement work, cleaning, minor electrical work, general maintenance and repair, masonry, concrete block, painting and yardwork. Materials and lunch are provided.

“Keeping Milligan on track to excellence is a huge effort that incorporates many different people – faculty, staff, alumni, students, and friends of the college,” said Jeanes. “We feel truly blessed to have such a dedicated group of people who are always eager to give of their time and talents for Milligan.”

The Jeanes are also hosting a workday on August 9 for all faculty and staff members and their families.

Those interested in helping on July 27 may contact Clarinda Jeanes at 423-434-2402 or by e-mail at cpjeanes@milligan.edu.
