David Siebenaler

Dr. David Siebenaler is a full-time Instructor of History and Humanities at Milligan University, where he specializes in the Stone-Campbell Movement as well as 20th-century European and American history. He brings a unique blend of historical scholarship and theological insight to his teaching, drawing on decades of study and ministry experience.

Dr. Siebenaler recently completed his Doctor of Ministry degree from Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan (2024). His research has been featured in Discipliana, the journal of the Disciples of Christ Historical Society. His deep passion for the Stone-Campbell tradition stems from his transformative time as a student at Milligan (1982–1986), where he discerned his call to full-time ministry within this faith tradition.

At Milligan, Dr. Siebenaler finds great joy in mentoring students and collaborating with faculty in the Humanities program. He values the opportunity to foster intellectual and spiritual growth, encouraging students to explore history, faith, and culture with curiosity and purpose.

Dr. Siebenaler’s faith journey is intricately tied to his work as an educator and historian. His studies and ministry have deepened his understanding of the church’s history and its impact on contemporary faith communities. He considers his teaching a way to honor his calling and contribute to the ongoing legacy of Milligan’s mission.
