Mission: As a Christian liberal arts university, Milligan University seeks to honor God by educating men and women to be servant‑leaders.

Where We Live

We’re nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Northeast Tennessee.
We’re minutes from downtown Johnson City and I-26, within a day’s drive of most of the Eastern U.S., and an hour from historic Asheville, North Carolina.
The Appalachian Highlands that surround us are aptly named an “All-America Region” by The National Civic League. It’s an area of natural beauty and rich history where you can enjoy historical locations, theatres, parks, restaurants, shops, and more!

What We Study

Christ-centered learning is at the core of our education philosophy. We believe in being thinking and acting Christians who see God’s hand in all subjects.The interplay between Christian commitment and academic quality is central to Milligan’s identity and purpose.
The term “liberal arts” is a way of describing a broad education that seeks to prepare students to think, to inquire, and to analyze. Milligan is a liberal arts university.
Milligan requires all undergraduate students to complete a CORE CURRICULUM, regardless of their major area of study. The core curriculum is designed to provide students with a broad foundation for life-long learning and for further study in specific disciplines.
