Cassie Swayne is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Milligan University, where she teaches Maternal/Child Nursing. Her areas of expertise include maternal and newborn care, with a focus on pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum care.
In addition to her academic role, Swayne is a practicing Certified Nurse Midwife and has worked in labor and delivery since 2012. She is passionate about providing students with up-to-date education and meaningful clinical experiences that prepare them to serve women and families with skill and compassion.
One of her greatest accomplishments was helping to organize a medical mission trip to Uganda, where the team treated and ministered to more than 1,100 people.
Her faith is central to her life and work. As James 1:2-3 says, “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.” She prays that her work at Milligan will be a blessing to both students and colleagues.
