Investment Club

Are you interested in the stock market? Would you like to learn more about how to evaluate companies as investments? Are you looking to learn more about investing as a way of investing in yourself?

Milligan University’s Investment Club is a group of students interested in finance and investing. The club is one of the most active on Milligan’s campus and meets weekly as a forum to discuss and plan the activities of the club. All students are welcome
to participate.

Scholarships

Investment Club scholarships are available. To apply, students must meet the following criteria:

  • 3.0 GPA
  • planning on majoring in business, economics, or accounting
  • willing to commit to participating in the Investment Club

Club Activities

Student Managed Investment Fund: Members of the Investment Club, under the supervision of Milligan professor, Dr. David Campbell, and partners at UBS Financial Services, manage a small endowment fund.

Guest Speakers: Members of the financial community talk with students about everything from professionalism and networking to the use of different financial models for selecting investments.

Travel: There are usually two trips a year, a local day trip in the fall and the GAME Forum in New York City in the spring.

FAQ

Who leads the Investment Club?

A group of student officers leads the Investment Club, with advice and support from Dr. David Campbell, Professor of Economics.

Who can participate?

All enrolled Milligan students are invited to participate in the Milligan Investment Club, regardless of your major. You do not need an investment club scholarship to be an active member of the club.

How does the Investment Club Scholarship work?

Incoming students who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:

  • Have a 3.0 high school GPA or higher
  • Are planning to major in business, economics, or accounting
  • Are willing to commit to participating in the Investment Club

Investment Club scholarships are not stackable with athletic scholarships. If you have questions please contact Dr. Campbell.
