Position Overview:

The Senior Minister is the spiritual leader and primary communicator of the church’s vision and biblical teaching. This individual provides pastoral care, works alongside staff and ministry leaders, and leads the church in fulfilling its mission of making disciples and impacting the community with the love and truth of Jesus Christ. As a non-denominational congregation, we value relational leadership, biblical integrity, and Spirit-led ministry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preaching and Teaching

  • Prepare and deliver weekly biblically sound, practical, and Spirit-led sermons.
  • Teach and equip the congregation through regular Bible studies, classes, or discipleship groups.
  • Communicate the Gospel clearly to both believers and seekers.

2. Vision and Leadership

  • Provide spiritual and strategic leadership for the church in partnership with the elders/board.
  • Cast and implement a compelling vision for growth, outreach, and discipleship.
  • Model servant leadership and cultivate a Christ-centered culture within the church.

3. Staff and Ministry Oversight

  • Support the church staff and ministry leaders.
  • Encourage the development of leadership and volunteer engagement.
  • Coordinate ministries to ensure alignment with the church’s mission and values.

4. Pastoral Care

  • Provide spiritual guidance, prayer, and biblical counseling to individuals and families.
  • Visit those in need (hospitalized, grieving, or homebound) and ensure care is provided throughout the body.
  • Officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms, and child dedications.

5. Outreach and Community Involvement

  • Lead the church in local and global outreach initiatives.
  • Encourage congregational involvement in service and evangelism.
  • Represent the church in the community and build relationships with other churches and organizations.

6. Other Duties

  • Duties deemed necessary by the church Elders/church board as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A clear, personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a life marked by integrity, humility, and the fruit of the Spirit.
  • Strong agreement with the church’s statement of faith and core values.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of pastoral or ministry leadership experience preferred, but willing to look at other experiences with demonstrated leadership in a church context.
  • A bachelor’s degree is required; theological training (M.Div. or equivalent) is preferred, but we are willing to look at other job-related or educational experiences.
  • Proven skills in preaching, leadership, team-building, and relational ministry.
  • Emotionally healthy, self-aware, and committed to spiritual growth.
