Position: Children Minister (Pre K – 5th Grade)
Status: Part-Time
Bunker Hill Christin Church is free from all denomination organizations and creeds. Coming from the Restoration Movement that helped to draw the church back to the founding ideas of the early church. To be bounded in unity in Christ first and to be led by the scripture and the Spirit of Christ.
We accept the Bible as sole authority and sufficient guide for our faith and practice. On matters of opinion, where God has not spoken, we desire to allow the liberty of opinion in Christian love and fellowship.

- Seek– to seek those out that have not come to a relationship with Jesus Christ through outreach, services, and programs.
- Serve- to Serve those inside and outside of this community through community groups, service projects and acts of love for the community as a whole.
- Grow- To encourage spiritual growth through serving in areas of ministry and walking with others as they develop in faith.
Role Of Children’s Minister
BHCC is a multigenerational church that seeks to honor God above all things. We are passionate about seeking out and growing Christian leaders to send out to serve our community and the world. The Children’s Minister serves the congregation at BHCC by ensuring we accomplish our vision and mission with children (Pre K-5th grade) and their families.
The Children’s Minister:
- Is Accountable to the Board Elders and the Senior Minister in job performance.
- Participates in Staff Meetings (1 a month unless otherwise requested by the Lead minister)
- Proactively engages with families.
- Is responsible for recruiting, training, and leading our children’s ministry volunteers and teams.
- Suggests teaching material for the elder’s approval.
- Works with the Youth Minister to help parents, children, and students transition well during grade and programming changes.
- Is a representative of Christ and BHCC to the community.
Primary Responsibilities
- Communicates in an effective and timely manner with parents about any information pertaining to the children’s ministry.
- Plan outings that foster community with current children, as well as provide opportunities for new connections.
- Personal preparation for teaching, trips, and leadership development.
- Coordinates with the Youth Minister to provide pastoral care to families.
- Helps in creating a culture in which volunteers and church members are given opportunities to love, minister, and train children from 3 year olds through fifth grade.
- Preparing and executing Sunday morning worship service, and coordinating children’s programming with the family ministry coordinator for Wednesday night Children’s church programs.
- Seeks out conferences and other networks of Children’s ministers to grow and expand in abilities.

The Children’s Minister:

- Has a strong work ethic and an attitude of continual improvement.
- Is both a student and a teacher.
- Loves working with children and families.
- Is a planner and can multitask projects.
- Is proactive in communication.
- Models Christ’s love in family and personal relationships.
Offering:
- The amount salary for this position will be set based on experience and reference given at the time of offering.
- The position will have two weeks of paid vacation however no more than 4 Sundays may be used with in that vacation time. The children’s minister is still responsible for these areas having volunteers or team members operating and executing the programs for the duration of their vacation.
- It is required that at least one week of vacation is taken each year so that the children’s minister has time to relax and focus on personal growth. Failure to do so may result in a forced period of rest by the board.
- The Board will attempt to assist with one training conference a year helping to pay for ticket, lodging, food and travel.
