Destanie Clemons Sweeney is a Clinical Instructor in the Area of Education at Milligan University, where she teaches and supervises student teachers and interns in their field placements. She is passionate about equipping future educators with research-based instructional strategies that promote authentic engagement in the classroom.

Sweeney began her career as a high school English teacher before being nominated for the Aspiring Assistant Principal Network of Tennessee through her former school district, a program in which she earned her master’s degree in Instructional Leadership and obtained her Instructional Leadership License (ILL). Following this experience, she served as a high school assistant principal.

A Milligan alumna, Sweeney is honored to now serve aspiring educators at her alma mater.
