First Baptist Church of Fall Branch is focused on Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and in developing disciples for him. We are growing in numbers and in faith. Our demographics span all age groups — including infants and students as well as young adults and seniors.

The Minister of Music (Part-time) is responsible for leading and overseeing the music ministry of
the church, ensuring that all musical worship aligns with the church’s mission, values,
and biblical doctrine.

Qualifications

  • A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing personal relationship with
    Him.
  • Agreement with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 and support for the overall
    vision and mission of the church.
  • Clear calling of God in the area of worship and music ministry.
  • Values authentic worship over performance.
  • Experience and proficiency in musical ability, working with musicians, choir direction,
    and leading congregational worship.
  • Ability to balance a worship environment in a blended setting of traditional hymns
    and contemporary praise music.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with pastoral staff, church leadership, volunteers, and
    congregation.

Responsibilities/Expectations

  • Become a member of First Baptist Church of Fall Branch.
  • Lead the music ministry with a servant’s heart and model a lifestyle of worship and
    personal devotion to Christ.
  • Plan, organize, and lead Christ-centered worship.
  • Oversee the selection of biblically sound and theologically rich music for worship
    services.
  • Organize and evaluate the comprehensive music program of the church. (e.g., Choir,
    Children, Youth, Praise, VBS, Seasonal Music Programs, Revival).
  • Plan corporate worship service in consultation with the Pastor.
  • Lead the corporate worship service in a worshipful and excellent manner, balancing
    the blend of traditional hymns and contemporary praise music.
  • Collaborate with the Music Committee to determine music goals, organization,
    leadership, budget, and administration process for the music ministry.
  • Organize and lead weekly choir rehearsals.
  • Recruit, train, and disciple church members to serve in the music ministry.
  • Develop the choir’s musical abilities and expand the musical repertoire.
  • Oversee and collaborate with vocalists, musicians, choir, and audio/visual
    volunteers.
  • Supervise the maintenance of musical equipment and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the pastor.
  • Report directly to the pastor with additional oversight and support of the Music
    Committee.
  • Be actively involved in church life, including attendance at church services, events,
    and meetings.
  • If married, the spouse should be supportive of the ministry and actively involved in
    the life of the church

Skills & Experience (Not Required, But Helpful)

  • Degree in music, worship leadership, or a related field (or equivalent ministry
    experience).
  • Familiarity with worship technology, including sound systems, software, and
    livestream.
  • Proficiency in at least one accompanying instrument (guitar, piano, etc.)
